This is a recording of men working at a construction site. You can hear individual hammers as well as a jackhammer and other machinery. I stopped on my way into work for a minute to record the sounds coming from a hedge. There's birdsong, a bit of traffic and you might be able to sense my awkwardness as i stood on the side of the street pointing a little electronic device towards a bush. Olympus ls-5, internal mics, no filtering.

I was on my way to a meeting a few doors down from this intersection and there was some nice sounds happening, it's in the late morning and so people are hard at work and moving around and doing their thing. There's some cool door chimes, trucks, traffic, random conversations, etc.

The audio was recorded for a class assignment, during the evening in iowa city. Mostly comprised of very soft background crickets and gentle traffic noises; there are also a few interesting sounds such as radio from passing cars.
